Kempelen Biomatic Orchestra

In a swing-tuned programme Pressburg cabaret brings the greatest inspiration from times, when jazz and popular dance music began to domesticate in Central-European cafés, dance halls, casinos and newly emerging clubs. The influences of South-American, New Orleans and Chicago music scenes were massively reaching Danube through Paris and Berlin, however, the main entrance gate remained traditionally Vienna.

Pressburg, later Bratislava, thanks to its multiculturalism became in the 20s, 30s and 40s of the 20th century a natural and favourable environment for all musical imports to find their breeding ground, thus disposed creators and thankful listeners. There were successful musical metamorphoses leading to favourite evergreens spiced with ethnic and cultural specificities of the whole K.K. Monarchy – Austrian, Hungarian, Slovak, Czech, Serbian, Romanian, Jewish and Gipsy musical feelings created a musical and linguistic mutations that have an unmistakable Central-European sound and musical moods.

Kempelen Biomatic Orchestra brings you these Tango, Polka and Dixieland melodies not only in the performance of artists who have rich experience with the penetration of academically educated musicians into jazz formations on top music and theatre scenes (Bratislava Jazz Days). It’s also in the dynamic and expressively modern adaption of the young talented composer Lucia Chuťková and charming interpretation of vocally and linguistically extraordinarily well-equipped singers - Margit Garajszki and Eva Sakálová. The bandleader of K.B.O. is Boris Lenko – a top accordionist with rich international experience.
